In Sight Out Productions, Inc. has been delivering quality high definition programming since 2001. Roger Herr, the owner and president, started his TV career in 1982 as a photographer and editor for WLOS-TV in Asheville NC. He moved up through the ranks to larger TV markets finally landing in Atlanta where he worked at WSB-TV and then CNN as a director of photography in their documentary unit.
He created In Sight Out Productions, Inc. after his departure from CNN. Since then he’s become a relied upon DP, producer, director and lighting cameraman for the broadcast and cable networks as well as a growing list of diverse corporate clients. His work spans not only several decades but also numerous continents while pursuing his passion of creative, visual storytelling. He’s won numerous prestigious awards such as a National Emmy in Cinematography, the Peabody, the DuPont and Overseas Press Club honors.
Roger stays busy with his network clients covering news stories as they break in the SE region and the Caribbean. His work with The Carter Center and other NGO’s operating overseas, especially Africa, are some of his most gratifying assignments. He’s recently covered Hurricanes Irma and Maria spending a great deal of time in Puerto Rico documenting the aftermath and recovery of the devastated island. While he continues to acquire new skills in field production with state of the art equipment he takes great pride in becoming a FAA certified drone pilot and the joys of aerial photography.
